Biography

Leslie Gaston-Bird CAS MPSE is a Golden Reel nominated supervising sound editor, re-recording mixer, and composer. She is President of the Audio Engineering Society (2024) and a voting member of the Recording Academy (The Grammys®) and member of their P&E Wing. She has worked for National Pubic Radio (Broadcast/Recording Technician), Colorado Public Radio (Audio Systems Manager), and Post Modern Company (Sound Editor). She taught audio production and audio post production for 15 years at the University of Colorado Denver. She is now a freelance audio professional.

Leslie brings over 30 years of audio engineering experience to her work. She specializes in mixing feature-length films and documentaries in stereo and 5.1, and is currently adding Dolby Atmos workflows to her arsenal. She is President-Elect for the Audio Engineering Society, author of Women in Audio and is working on her doctorate on immersive workflows at the University of Surrey's IoSR (Institute of Sound Recording).
