Tuluv Price

Tuluv is a Director, Choreographer, Producer, Writer, as well as a triple threat in the performing arts. Tuluv pursued advanced studies at the California Institute of the Arts, Howard University and the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She received a BFA from the University of the Arts and a Masters degree in Management from The International Graduate University in Washington DC. While in the female R&B group, 4BIDDEN, Tuluv opened for many artists, including Mya, Mary Mary, Destiny's Child Tuluv was the lead role as "Antoinette Grayson" in the theatrical stage play "THE MAINTENANCE MAN" along side Billy Dee Williams, Darius McCrary, Arnez J and D'iatra Hicks. Choreographically, Tuluv was taught under the tutelage of the legendary George Faison and was privileged to perform under his direction in the 2000 revival of "The Wiz", "Bubbling Brown Sugar", "King", "Aretha Franklins" and VH1 Divas Live at Radio City Music Hall. Shortly After, Tuluv and Anthony Burrell begin to develop her own Contemporary dance company Luv2dants while housed at the Faison Firehouse Theater. While in NY, Tuluv Luv2dants was featured in the "Best of BDC" Showcases, NY Dance Carnival and was featured in "Dance Now" and The New York Times. Tuluv has danced and choreographed for such artists as Jimmy Cozier, Spinderella, Monifah, Maxi Priest, Whitney Houston, Jay Z, Foxy Brown, Lil Kim, Ashanti, Rihanna and Sean Paul, Tony Terry and Chrisette Michelle as well as various independent artist. She has also choreographed for plays such as "The Maintenance Man" and "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Isn't Enough" Tuluv began to direct when she joined the Malik Yoba National Theater Company in Los Angeles Ca. where Tuluv was the Assistant Director to Michael De Lorenzo as well as the Choreographer for the stage play "Acoustic Chocolate" Starring Malik Yoba, Michael De Lorenzo and Phil Perry. She directed and choreographed her 1st off Broadway credit for her choreography in Rhapsody and Who. In 2005 she returned to Washington DC to help set a new original African American nativity story entitled "Wasn't That a Mighty Day" which premiered at Howard University Crampton Auditorium. In December of 2005 Luv2dants produced their first Season at the Atlas Theater in Washington DC entitled "Blood, Sweat and Tears" written directed and choreographed by her and her partner Anthony Burrell. Mrs. Tuluv Price's later directorial theaters works include "Romeo and Juliet's Final Tour," "Lion King: Reloaded," "Happy Feat". Her original works include Blood Sweat and Tears I and II" "In My Mind", "Before It Was Called Hip Hop", "Romeo and Juliet's Love and Hip Hop" which were all produced and choreographed by Mrs. Price. Tuluv has taught various styles of dance at Joy of Motion Atlas, Northeast Performing Arts, Expressions Dance Theater and Joyce Laverne Studios. While receiving her masters, Tuluv served on staff at several schools in the Washington Metropolitan area teaching both dance and theater. These schools include Potomac Lighthouse, Calvary Christian Academy, Suitland Visual and Performing Arts School, Thomas Pullen Performing Arts, The Arts and Technology Academy and William E Dorr Performing Arts. She later received adjunct professor positions from The University of The District of Columbia and American University Theater Departments. Simultaneously her company began to Sponsor and produce several fundraiser and benefits such as "Dance 4 the Cure" at Bowie State University, A hip hop benefit for HIV and AIDs research and "Chocolate Christmas Session" a showcase raising funds for families in need during the holiday season. In 2008 Tuluv opened a small dance studio in the Anacostia neighborhood in which she grew up. In 2012 Luv2dants Artistic and Educational Consulting firm was chosen to travel to Cuba for arts and education research on Afro Cuban folklore culture. Multi tasking in dance music and acting, Tuluv acting credits include receiving her 1st movie role in a featured film "Toe to Toe" that debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in 2009 and continued syndication in major theaters as well as on Showtime and The Sundance Channel. "The Battle", "Frenemies", 'For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide when the Rainbow Isn't Enough'. "Mommie Love You" Venus in "Hip Hop High TV series ' in addition to the Lead in a new Off Broadway Play entitled Accept "Except" LGBT at the Castillo Theater on 42nd St. Produced by the New Federal Theater. Mrs. Price's most recent and current projects include, witting, directing and choreographing for West Vision Productions of "Your Never Alone staring James Fortune at The Cobb Center in Atlanta Georgia and "The Daughters of God" in Washington D.C. and When Things Fall Apart starring Chrisette Michelle and Tony Terry in Sunrise Florida. Simultaneously, with her spare time, Tuluv functions as a Creative Director for Timeless Music founded by Stanley Brown while working full time developing arts education programming for the District of Columbia public school system. Tuluv was just featured in a documentary entitled Tuluv Price Supports the Arts.
