He was born in London, England, but has lived in different countries around the world such as India, USA, Mexico, Colombia and the UK. At a very young age he entered the world of theater working as an actor and playwriter, especially in the anthropological theater where he seeks through theatrical research different dimensions of the stage encounter.
He studied philosophy at the university of the Andes in Colombia and created with his uncle Gabriel García Márquez The Fiti Fundation, for theatre and the Arts, where he made the first version of One Hundred Years of Solitude in theater which was presented in several seasons in Colombia and Mexico. He traveled to London where he worked as an actor, playwright and director of several plays and lived in India for two years learning Vedanta philosophy and extensive training in Hatha Yoga. Upon returning, he began to investigate indigenous rites, especially the Wayuu culture, making an adaptation of the play Eyes of the Blue Dog that he presented in Turkey, Greece and Madrid.
He studied Film Directing at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles and upon his return to Colombia he began working on various ethnological documentaries and short films. His script Back to the Sea of My Deceased, his first film, won several script awards, including the one from the Colombian Ministry of Culture and from Cinefilia Ibermedia in Spain. It won the production award from the Colombian Ministry of Culture and a co-production award with Mexico at the Guadalajara Film Festival. His short film Atarraya premiered at the Short Film Corner in Cannes and was at more than thirty festivals around the world such as Friburgo, Guadalajara, Cartagena, among others.
In 2022, he premiered his short film "Invisibles" at the Clermont Ferrand Festival in France, continuing with the Fribourg festival in Switzerland and at the closing of the Cartagena Film Festival. In May 2022 it was presented at the Moma in New York. His script Fraternity won the Ministry of Culture's scriptwriting award and he adapted it into a series that was premiered in May 2022 on HboMax under the name Las iguanas.
He is currently developing a script in co-production with Colombia and Germany called "In the Shadow of an Apple Tree I sat down and cried" and the script "Domus Dei" in Colombia-Mexico co-production. He Is an expert on Gabriel Garcia Marquez's film and literature career, and his life and creative process, and has developed a Conference Called: Gabo and Cinema that he has presented in several places.
