Biography

Born in Yakima, WA Mimi Cheri Applebaum was always going to be an entertainer before even she possibly knew. From backyard grade school turns in Camelot to the theater stage at Western Washington University there was always something special about Mimi's performances. Always a powerhouse performer and singer Mimi was held back but never deterred by a lifelong fight against carcinoid cancer and it's related chronic heart failure. She was always drawn to larger than life roles even if it meant less stage or screen time. She would often say, "what fun is it to play straight when you can play over the top and crazy?" That being said she was truly dynamic in both dramatic and comedic roles with impeccable timing and expressions that were worth a thousand words. Though Mimi spent most of her time in stage productions she did appear in a handful of independent films and TV pilot. After moving to Pittsburgh in 2018 Mimi had been eagerly involving herself in the many movie opportunities that had become available in the city's blossoming film industry but her life was sadly and abruptly cut short following a failed and unexpected 4th open heart surgery shortly after her 40th birthday. She continues to be celebrated for all that she accomplished and grieved over what she still had left to offer.
