Biography

Kolohe Andino

Overview

  • Born
March 22, 1994 · San Clemente, California, USA

Biography

  • The multiple USA National Champion is one of the most followed and photographed surfers on the planet.

Second-generation pro surfer Kolohe Andino didn't take long to come out from his father Dino's shadow: Kolohe started winning age group championships at just 7 and winning open class championships by the age of 15.

He had a breakout year in 2011 at age 17, winning the Vans Pro Junior and five events on the Men's Qualifying Series, and has been a full-time competitor on the Men's Championship Tour since 2012.

In 2019, Kolohe became the first American male to qualify for surfing's Olympic debut in Tokyo, where he'll be joined by USA Surfing team-mates John John Florence, Carissa Moore and Caroline Marks. Now that the Olympics have been postponed to July 2021, he has his sights set on winning his first WSL Championship Tour title, in his ninth full season on the elite pro circuit.

Kolohe has a reputation as one of the hardest-working athletes in surfing and he's putting all filming projects and everything else aside to focus on that goal. "I feel like I have a lot more to give," he told Surfline in a recent interview. "I think I'm coming into my prime years of being an all-around athlete, so I just want to maximize that time."

He married his longtime sweetheart Madison (nee Brooke-Aldrich) in January 2018, at a star-studded celebration in San Clemente, California that was stacked with several generations of the biggest names in surfing.
