Biography

Jack Richardson was born on February 18, 1934 in Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA. Jack was a writer, known for New York Television Theatre (1965), NET Playhouse (1964) and Quest (1961). Jack was married to Anne Richardson Roiphe and Susan E. Morse. Jack died on July 1, 2012 in Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA.

His father Arthur Richardson co wrote "Too Fat Polka" and was a pianist.

After his army service, he studied philosophy at Columbia. In 1957 he received a Konrad-Adenauer Fellowship to study philosophy at the University of Munich.

He originally wanted be a tap dancer, and he had a small role in a touring company of "Pal Joey." He enlisted in the Army after high school, and was based in Frankfurt and Paris, where he wrote articles about soldiers for their hometown newspapers. In his spare time, he studied philosophy and fine arts at the University of Paris.

He was a playwright who had success in New York theater in the 1960s. He also wrote magazine articles and books, and was a drama critic.
