Trivia

  • Ex-Formula One racing driver, who raced for: Jordan (2004 (4 GPs)), Toyota (2008 (18 GPs)-2009 (14 GPs)), Virgin (2010 (18 GPs)), 2011 (18 GPs)) and Marussia (2012 (19 GPs)). He started 91 Grands Prix, 1 Fastest Lap, 3 Podiums and 51 Points. Best ranked in the World Championship: 10th in 2008 and 2009.
  • 2007 GP2 Series Champion.
  • A historic moment in Timo Glock's career happened during the 2008 Brazilian Grand Prix. The German was one of the few cars to gamble on staying out on slicks as rain started to fall in the closing laps of the Grand Prix. His gamble nearly paid off. Glock was 7th before other cars dived into the pits for intermediates, and he started the final lap in 4th. But by then his pace had dropped by 9 seconds, and his final lap was another 16 seconds slower. That was just enough to enable Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton to pass him at the final corner of the last lap, giving Hamilton the extra point (5th place) he needed to rip the title from race winner Felipe Massa's grasp. After race, Timo Glock faced severe threats, requiring police to escort him from the circuit.
  • Teammates in Formula One were: Nick Heidfeld, Jarno Trulli, Lucas di Grassi, Jérôme D'Ambrosio and Charles Pic.
