Marcelo Gama is a highly accomplished director with a distinguished career in the entertainment industry, recognized with two International Emmy Awards for the Latin Grammys, a Telly Award for the Grammy Salute to 50 Years of Hip Hop, and a Local Emmy Award. His expertise encompasses a vast array of events, including prestigious music awards, concerts, television programs, and reality TV shows.

Marcelo recently made history by directing and producing the first-ever halftime event in soccer at the Copa America final, where Shakira delivered an outstanding performance. His company, Thinking Lion, managed and hired the entire broadcast technical crew and state-of-the-art equipment for the event.

In 2024 alone, Marcelo has been at the helm of several major nationwide events such as Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, Premio Lo Nuestro, the BET Awards, Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular for NBC, Premios Juventud, the People's Choice Awards Country on NBC, and the 25th edition of the Latin Grammys in November. He has also contributed to MusiCares tributes, honoring legends like Jon Bon Jovi, Smokey Robinson, Berry Gordy, and Joni Mitchell.

Marcelo has been a pivotal figure at the Latin Grammys main show for six consecutive years and has worked on numerous other prominent award shows, including the Academy of Country Music Awards, Billboard's "Mujeres Latinas en la Música," Univision's Premio Lo Nuestro and Premios Juventud, and the Latin American Music Awards.

His influence extends to concerts, where he has directed CNN's "We Love NY," produced by Clive Davis, and directed many live and taped concerts. Marcelo has also made significant contributions to reality shows, including four seasons of "Mira Quién Baila" (the Spanish version of "Dancing with the Stars"), four seasons of "Nuestra Belleza Latina" (Our Latin Beauty), and "Tu Cara Me Suena" (Your Face Sounds Familiar) among others.

Throughout his career, Marcelo has collaborated with esteemed organizations such as Jesse Collins Entertainment, CBS, DCP, Done & Dusted, Live Nation, CNN, Clive Davis, Endemol, Fremantle, Syco, MTV, Disney Channel, Bloomberg, Univision, PSN, and NBC.

He played a vital role in the 1994 and 2014 FIFA World Cups. In 1994, he worked with the Brazilian national team in France, shooting and editing. In 2014, he helped format and direct seven different shows for Univision during the event in Brazil.

Fluent in three languages, Marcelo's skills have enabled him to work internationally in countries such as Spain, France, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico.

Marcelo's passion for his craft drives him to continually develop his skills and explore new technologies.
