Marie Avgeropoulos is a Greek-Canadian actress. She is internationally recognized for her captivating performance as "Octavia Blake", a cunning warrior, in the post-apocalyptic Emmy-nominated drama series, The 100 (2014), in which she starred in all 100 episodes, mesmerizing her audiences with a physically intense and transformative performance. Avgeropoulos commands the screen with both a vulnerability and a rugged, primal intensity, showing mastery in specialized swordplay and equestrian stunts throughout the entire series. Her beloved character maintains a worldwide fan base.
On the silver screen, amongst Marie's many credits include playing real life 1940s wrestler "Elvira Snodgrass" in the biopic Queen of the Ring (2024) alongside Emily Bett Rickards, Walton Goggins, and Josh Lucas, The Painter (2024) opposite Jon Voight and Madison Bailey, and Golden Globe-nominated 50/50 (2011), alongside movie veterans Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Marie has also become a go-to TV actress with notable guest appearances on hit shows, such as Wild Cards (2024), Supernatural (2005), Fringe (2008), Eureka (2006) and Human Target (2010).
Born and raised on the shores of Lake Superior in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, Avgeropoulos trained in classical theatre at Studio 58 in Vancouver before embarking on a professional career.
