  • Carla Gonzalez Vargas is the CEO of Gato Grande, a production company dedicated to the development and production of premium audiovisual content for US and Latin American markets. As a producer, director, and writer, Carla Gonzalez Vargas was named by Forbes magazine as one of the 100 most powerful women in Mexico for two consecutive years. Carla is the Executive Producer of numerous television programs, including "Luis Miguel: The Series" (2018-2022), which became one of the most successful television series in Latin America and the global hit "Wednesday" (2022) on Netflix for which she got an Emmy Nomination.

    Jury member at the Guadalajara Film Festival, Los Cabos Film Festival, Rose D’Or Awards. She has also been a guest lecturer at UCLA in Los Angeles, California, and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) Latinas in Hollywood at Amazon Studios as well as diverse panels at LA Screenings, NATPE and Content Americas.

    Carla is a board member of Grupo Park Royal, Content Americas, and MVS Capital. She began her career as a writer and journalist in her native country, Mexico. Her first book, "Woody Allen: His Life and Films," published in 2004, received a successful response. This was followed by two more books authored by her: "The Routes of Mexican Cinema 1990-2006" and "Mexican Cinema," published by Lunwerg. Likewise, Gonzalez Vargas contributed as a cultural and film columnist for various magazines such as Cine Premier and Milenio, as well as in multiple radio and television programs.
