Dennis Martinez was born on 14 May 1955 in Granada, Nicaragua. He has been married to Luz Marina García since 29 April 1973. They have four children.

Pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles (1976-1986), Montreal Expos (1986-1993), Cleveland Indians (1994-1996), Seattle Mariners (1997) and Atlanta Braves (1998).

Led the American League in Innings (292 1/3), Games Started (39) and Batters Faced (1,206) in 1979.
