Joanne Borgella was born on May 29, 1982 in Uniondale, Long Island, New York, USA. She died on October 18, 2014 in the USA.

Lived in Hoboken, New Jersey when she tried out for Idol, but has also lived in Atlanta, Georgia.

Auditoned for American Idol in Philadelphia with Celine Dion's "I Love You" while wearing number 82653.

In October 2013 Joanne shared a video alerting her fans that she had been diagnosed with cancer. She shared that she'd been suffering very painful headaches and upon going to the emergency room to figure out what was going on, she found out that the cancer spread to her brain. She kept fans up-to-date on her cancer treatments on her Facebook page. She died on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 5:45 a.m. She was age 32.

Attended high school at the Academy of Saint Joseph in Brentwood, California and graduated in 2000.
