Eleftheria Komi

Eleftheria Komi was born in Heraklion, in Crete, in Greece, to Adamantia, a bank employee and Georgios Komis, a pathologist doctor. She is Cretan from both parents descent. She is a multifaceted artistic presence who navigates with equal grace the worlds of cinema, writing, and the geometry of movement. She did her breakthrough with her starring role of Mary in Luton of Michalis Konstantatos, which was awarded with best debut director price at the Festival of Athens Nychtes Premieras and for which Komi was nominated for best actress debut. She carries the distinction of a former professional dancer with the renowned Béjart Ballet Lausanne, an experience that infuses her cinematic presence with a certain rhythmic precision. Her diverse yet consistently eclectic filmography spans from the clinical, existential gaze of Michalis Konstantatos’s Luton and the vibrant Dionysiac energy of Tony Gatlif’s Djam, to Nikos Perakis’s Sirens at Land, Konstantinos Koutsoliotas’s Minore, and Georgis Grigorakis’s 45 Degrees, alongside international credits in Greek Nut, Vous Êtes Ici, and Three Farewells, celebrating the multi-layered narratives of contemporary cinema.
