Christopher Pratt was born on 9 December 1935 in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. He is known for Far from Away: The Arts in St. John's (1980), Immaculate Memories: The Uncluttered Worlds of Christopher Pratt (2018) and In for a Penny (2009). He was married to Jeanette Meehan and Mary Pratt. He died on 5 June 2022 in Salmonier River, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

Began his studies for a pre-medicine degree at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada before switching to the fine arts program.

Graduated with arts degrees from both Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada and the Glasgow School of Art.

Designed Newfoundland and Labrador&#39;s provincial flag which was unveiled to the Canadian public on April 29, 1980.
