- On 26 May 1959, Haddix pitched 12 perfect innings against the Milwaukee Braves, but the Pittsburgh Pirates had also failed to score. In the bottom of the 13th inning, the first Braves batter reached on a fielding error, erasing the perfect game. Three batters later, Haddix gave up his only hit to Joe Adcock and lost the game.
