Farshad Aria is an Iranian-Dutch film director and editor. Between 1984 to 1993, before he moved to the Netherlands, Farshad Aria has participated in many 8mm & 16mm short film productions for the Iranian Youth Cinema Society, working as cameraman, lighting technician and editor. He also made his first film in 1985, Never This...!, a short 8mm fiction for which he functioned as screen writer, director and editor. In 1993 Aria moved to the Netherlands, in 1998 graduated from The Dutch Film & Television Academy in Amsterdam. His graduation film, Life as it is...! (1998), was a documentary in which he himself was one of the main characters. After graduation he has made several shorts and mid-length documentaries independently or for different Dutch TV broadcasters. His work are mostly focusing on the immigrants.
