Colm's debut feature, Mattress Men, won an IFTA (Irish Film and Television Award) for Best Feature Documentary in 2017 and premiered at Hot Docs in Toronto.
He went on to co-direct Murder at the Cottage: The Search for Justice for Sophie with six-time Oscar nominee Jim Sheridan for Sky. He then made the "Charlie Bird Trilogy" which profiled the life, work and legacy of the famed journalist. These included Charlie Bird: Loud and Clear, Ransom '79, and A Day in May. Ransom '79 won Best Single Factual at the RTS Ireland Awards 2026.
His drama and documentary work have screened at hundreds of international festivals including SXSW, Edinburgh and Sheffield DocFest. Colm is an Irish speaker and a Berlinale Talents alum.
