Manos Hamilakis is a senior colorist based in Greece, widely regarded as one of the key figures in shaping the look of contemporary Greek cinema. With a background in painting and graphic design, he began his career in television advertising, working in image composition and finishing before transitioning fully into color grading. Known for his meticulous attention to detail and artistic sensibility, Hamilakis has collaborated on a wide range of acclaimed films, including Sirens in the Aegean (2005), Attenberg (2010), Strella (2009), Miss Violence (2013), Norway (2014), Little England (2013), and Eftihia (2019). His work also includes international productions, such as the award-winning Egyptian film Feathers (2021) by Omar El Zohairy. Since 2020, Hamilakis has served as senior colorist at Authorwave, a leading post-production company specializing in high-end audiovisual services for cinema, television, and digital platforms. Authorwave's cutting-edge facilities, including SDR, HDR, and Dolby Atmos suites, have enabled Hamilakis to focus on the creative core of his work-color. In addition to his professional achievements, he remains active as a visual artist and has participated in group exhibitions, using color and light to evoke emotion and tell stories, both on screen and on canvas.
