Aubrey Shea Peeples (they/them) is a queer actor and jazz/electronic musician from the swampy suburbs of Florida. They grew up a theater rat, working in professional theater by age ten. After deferring Harvard to continue pursuing their film career, they joined ABC's Nashville as Layla Grant - a character who, after becoming semi-famous as a teenager on a vocal competition show, struggles with depression, addiction, divorce, and estrangement from her family while exploring who she is as an artist. During their time on the show Aubrey had the honor of touring the country and performing at the Grand Ole Opry multiple times, playing blues and soul music. Since their time on the show, they have shot several independent films including their writing & directorial debut "Decadeless," which premiered at the Portland Oregon Women's Film Festival for women, trans and nonbinary creators in 2019. They also lead Carrie Brownstein's pilot "Search & Destroy" for Hulu, based on Carrie's band Sleater-Kinney. Aubrey's debut album "Happy Birthday" was released on their birthday, November 26, 2021, under their musical alter ego "swampz" and is now streaming everywhere including Spotify and Apple Music. They can most recently (2026) be seen leading Kit Williamson's new Revry TV LGBTQIA+ television series "Unconventional" - streaming on Revry, Peacock, and Amazon. Aubrey plays queer bipolar "Margot," sibling to Kit's "Noah," who's coming to terms with her childhood trauma while embarking on starting a family with her girlfriend.

They thank the theatrical & queer communities of Orlando, Florida for their love and acceptance through the years.
