Industry veteran and award-winning executive producer Igal Svet serves as Executive Vice President and Head of Documentaries at Blackfin, the premium unscripted label of Lionsgate Alternative Television.

With a notable tenure as Head of Documentaries at discovery+, Svet was the driving force behind the platform's documentary strategy, leading to over 50 award-winning and critically acclaimed documentaries. His ability to identify compelling stories and talent have earned him a reputation as one of today's top creative execs in the industry. Svet commissioned and executive produced numerous critically acclaimed and subscriber driving documentaries including The Truth About Jim, Shaun White: The Last Run, Unprecedented, Introducing Selma Blair, January 6th and the upcoming music documentary Won't Be Silent from executive producers Selena Gomez & Stacey Abrams.

Previously, Svet spearheaded National Geographic's transition to premium content, resulting in a dynamic slate of award-winning documentaries and series including the Oscar-winning Free Solo, the Emmy-winning LA 92, and the BAFTA-winning Jane as well as the tentpole series Mars, Story of God with Morgan Freeman, and One Strange Rock, which all achieved some of the highest ratings of any new series for the network.
