Biography

Alexandra Tolstoy was born on July 14, 1973 in Poole, Dorset, England, UK. She was previously married to Shamil Galimzyanov.

Children with boyfriend Sergei Pugachev: son Alexis (b. 2009), son Ivan (b. 2010), and daughter Maria (b. 2012).

Received a Master of Arts degree in Russian at Edinburgh University. Worked briefly as a broker at Credit Suisse First Boston in London.

Daughter of Count Nikolai Tolstoy and a member of the famous Tolstoy family.

In 1999, she spent eight months traveling by horse along the Silk Road, where she met an Uzbek horse guide. Photos of their 2003 wedding in the Russian Orthodox Cathedral in London were sold to Hello! Magazine.

British equine adventurer, broadcaster, and a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
