Matthew Kallen is a Los Angeles-based audio post-production engineer, mixer, and producer. He began his career during the early digital studio era, logging extensive session work throughout greater Los Angeles and collaborating with a range of high-profile artists and studios.
He worked at the Recording Academy (NARAS), where he helped establish its first Electronic Music Committee alongside Moby, Ken Jordan (The Crystal Method), BT, Norman Cook, and other pioneering electronic artists. He later transitioned into sound for picture, focusing on sound editorial and design, ADR, dialogue, and mixing across television, feature film, and interactive media.
Kallen brings broad experience in the post-production business and has supported creative teams working across Los Angeles, Atlanta, Vancouver, and other international production hubs, contributing to secure and client-friendly remote post-production workflows.
Active in the professional audio community, he has served on the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) Emerging Technologies Committee and works as an advisor and educator at multiple schools, emphasizing practical, story-first approaches to new tools, including the responsible use of AI and modern digital technologies.
