Biography

Carlos Gonzalez-Vio is a Canadian-born film, television, and theatre actor. He is the proud child of Uruguayan immigrants, and is fluent in both English and Spanish. French is next ;) Carlos was a series regular on NatGeo’s critically acclaimed series THE HOT ZONE: ANTHRAX. He has also had seminal recurring roles on: THE EXPANSE for Syfy; ENDLINGS for BBC/Hulu; and ORPHAN BLACK for CTV Sci-Fi. In 2023 & 2024, respectively, Carlos received a CSA nomination for Best Performance, Sketch Comedy (Ensemble) for his regular role as ‘Marco’ in the Crave Original series, PILLOW TALK. THEATRE- Carlos has been nominated four times for a Dora Mavor Moore Award in the independent theatre ensemble category. As a member of artist-run ARC in Toronto: POMONA; KISS; HUMAN ANIMALS; DISSIDENTS, and as his final show with the collective, he played 'Lorin' in Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ GLORIA, at Crow’s Theatre in 2022. Most recently, he had the privilege of performing the role of 'Paco', in THE COMEUPPANCE, also by Jacobs-Jenkins, at Soulpepper Theatre. In the spring 0f 2022, he played iconic Canadian poet, Milton Acorn, in David Yee's AMONG MEN at the Factory Theatre.
