- Myia was born in Belfast in Northern Ireland and grew up in Dublin, Ireland. She lives in Los Angeles, California where she has a digital media company. She has a Post Graduate degree in creative production & screen finance, and a degree in Philosophy from University College Dublin (UCD).
She is an Alumni of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (New York). soon after her graduation, she was cast in the HBO show The Tudors. Following two seasons and a number of other T.V, film, and theatre roles, she relocated to Los Angeles. As an actor, she has studied with The Berg Studios-(Los Angeles), The Guildhall, LAMDA (London), and is also a graduate of The Gaiety School of acting-(Dublin).
Being creatively Involved in art and design as well as filmmaking and photography, she is happy on both sides of the camera; as well as delving into post-production and other areas of media. A talented painter; she attended the Gnomon school for visual effects in Hollywood for digital art and compositing. This Irish filmmaker and artist has a number of notable projects in development and production that are a collaboration with International award-winning artists and multiple Emmy winning engineers.
She's passionate about changing the level of access for women in front of and behind the camera and encourages a more open and inclusive environment for women and minorities. she believes more diversity and representation are necessary for equality in the entertainment industry.
