Biography

Bilal Lashari is a film director, cinematographer and writer. His recently released 2nd feature film, an epic action drama "The Legend of Maula Jatt" (2022) has broken records as the highest grossing Punjabi language film of all time worldwide, grossing over $10.5 million USD, which is 5 times the previous Box Office record of any film from Pakistan. The film will be released in newer territories this year including a 12,000+ screen release in China.

Lashari's directorial debut, "WAAR" (2013) also became Pakistan's highest-grossing film at the time and was credited for reviving the country's dead film industry. He has also produced international award-winning commercials for companies such as Coca Cola, PepsiCo, and Mountain Dew, as well as award-winning music videos.

Lashari is a graduate of the Academy of Art University in San Francisco with a BFA in Motion Pictures and Television. He has also received training from the Global Cinematography Institute in advanced lighting and cinematography for visual effects and also trained for RED Camera post-production at the LA Center Studios.
