Amity Givens is a Hair and Makeup Artist/ Costume Designer for Film and Television. Already a trained stylist, she got her start in Costume Design while Assisting at HBO for the Chris Rock Show. She has branched out to doing special effects makeup, and specializes in period Costuming, and period specific styling.

Amity Givens is an American actor working in film and television. As a child she was involved in school theatrical productions K-12. Writing, acting and producing home movies as a teenager led to Early film and commercial roles, eventually a move to New York where she was represented by a Model and Talent Agency. While in New York she took class at Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, and attended Marymount Manhattan College. Finishing her acting training at William Esper Studios, a Meisner Conservatory program, she took a job as an assistant at HBO and began working under Chris Rock, Wanda Sykes and Lance Crouther where she saw the SNL style weekly sketch writing model. As an assistant stylist she used her acting background to style extras and minor characters. Gaining an insight to forming comedic characters, she targeted more cult film roles and character roles, while still pursuing Off-Broadway theater companies. A blend of real life honesty for dramatic roles, and the no holds barred style of improvised comedy leaves Amity Givens in a position to pursue those roles of her choosing, (often writing her own part) and those opportunities offered to her due to her unique expression. Director Jim Edwards of the TV series Blood Relatives said to her " If I could use you in everything I direct, I would" - on her ability to portray convincingly, a forensics investigator, featured Season 2 and 3. She continues to write, perform and work in film.

Won a fashion design contest in the category of "Wearable Art" while in High School, design similar to Jean Paul Gaultier's coiled bustier made for Madonna, though the contest preceded in chronological order.

Givens' real life brother is a college professor and teaches a course on forensics, she credits him for her role preparation as a forensics detective and her re-occurring featured acting work on the series Blood Relatives.
