Biography

Selina grew up on the remote islands of Orkney, where her parents had a small farm. After years of battling with the wind and semi-wild animals, she studied animation at the Edinburgh College of Art. Her degree film, 'Takuskanskan' was screened at many festivals and won several awards including the Craft Award at the British Animation Awards.

Since then, Selina has created short films such as 'A knotty escapade' which won the Chairman Award at the Scottish Advertising Awards and over 50 TV commercials for clients such as The National Trust for Scotland, Irn Bru, and Chester Zoo. She has also worked with studios such as Eyebolls and Wildchild Animation to create several TV shows including the CBeebies 'Musical Storyland'.

Selina also creates her own short films including 'Crow moon' in 2006 which was screened at over 25 international film festivals. In 2017 she was commissioned to create 'Spindrift' which has been screened at over 45 international animation festivals and was shortlisted for the Scottish BAFTA for best animation. And in 2020 she created 'A dog by your side' which won several awards and was screened at festivals worldwide.

She is now working on her first feature film 'Tirrick' with support from Screen Scotland.
