- Nick Montgomery has served as editor for feature films, television and commercials for over a decade. Based in Toronto he began his career in cinematography and visual effects before transitioning to editorial, taking with him an appreciation for letting the images tell the story.
Cutting his teeth on horror feature films (The Drownsman, Bite, The Heretics), Nick also has a keen interest in upbeat, energetic shows (like The Thrillusionists CBC Kids series) and hard-hitting, gritty documentaries (like Secret Nazi Bases, a Discovery Science series).
In his childhood Nick would ask teachers to allow him to submit short movies instead of written essays. To practice mimicking popular techniques he saw on the big screen, he would often commandeer the family's two VCR's to edit videos (sometimes to his family's frustration).
With an affinity for troubleshooting and problem-solving, Nick endeavours to make post-production run as smoothly as possible to allow the director to focus on creative decisions they would like to explore.
He just wants to make people laugh or cry at the screen.
