Biography

Laura Kay Henderson has always loved cinema and is grateful for every opportunity in front of or behind the camera. She founded SHE Films Media, LLC in 2018 with the aim to produce female-driven work, including positive representation of the lgbtq+ community. The first feature film produced by SHE Films Media, Behind a Masquerade of Rhymes, was adapted by Laura Kay Henderson from a play of the same name by ps lorio. The feature was directed by Henderson and Sarah E MacLean. The video now has over 2 million views on the We Are Pride YouTube channel. Laura and ps lorio have continued to work together on films such as the features A Most Unusual Xmas Tale (AMUXT), Muriel and Joyce Get a Boat and Muriel and Joyce 2: La Que Hay, and the short films In Cognito (written and directed by ps lorio) and Piece of Cake (written by Donna Hoke, directed by ps lorio) and Muriel and Joyce Get a Boat (short film version written and directed by ps lorio). Lorio writes, they work together to produce, Henderson shoots and edits and then they team up with Jonathan Brandt for audio, visual effects and finishing touches. More films are in the works and most finished films can be found on YouTube for free.
