Manoj Yadav is an Indian lyricist and writer working across Hindi and Marathi cinema. Raised in Thane
with roots in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, he began his career writing advertising jingles under the
composer trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy before moving into films. He wrote "De Ghuma Ke," the official
anthem of the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, and has since written songs for a wide range of Hindi films
including Piku, Azhar, Nil Battey Sannata, Dhanak, Badla and Tarla, as well as Hindi-version lyrics for
films originating in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. In Marathi cinema he is known for award-winning work
in Ventilator, Paani, Aata Thambaycha Naay! and Aar Paar, and he also served as a dialogue writer on
Thackeray. His lyrics have been recognised with honours including a Filmfare Award (Marathi), the
Maharashtra Times Sanman and the Zee Chitra Gaurav Puraskar. Beyond film, he has written
extensively for Coke Studio @ MTV India and for independent and devotional music and is known for a plain-spoken, conversational writing style.
