- Deanne Weir is a former media lawyer and executive turned producer, investor and company director. She is passionate about storytelling, change-making and gender equality. Deanne’s companies WeirAnderson Films and WeirAnderson.com invest in female-driven screen projects and technology businesses that change the way we experience the world. Film projects include I Used to Be Normal, Babyteeth, I Am Woman, Blaze, How to Please A Woman, Seriously Red, Run Rabbit Run, The Wolves Always Come at Night, Careless, Addition and Sweet Milk Lake. Deanne has extensive experience as an Executive Producer and is lead producer of upcoming feature film Boss Cat. She was Chair of Sydney Film Festival until 2023 and previously served as Deputy Chair of Screen Australia, where she was a key driver of the Gender Matters program.
