Biography

Krista Rand has worked in Film and TV for over sixteen years, gaining experience on both sides of the camera before moving into producing. Her most recent feature, Re: Uniting (Telefilm-funded, Writer/Director Laura Adkin), premiered at the Austin Film Festival, had a six-week Cineplex theatrical run in Canada, sold out screenings in LA and NYC, and won six Leo Awards including Best Film, Writing and Directing. An alumni of the Whistler Film Festival Producers Lab and the GEMS Emerging TV Producer Program, Krista has also produced Grand Unified Theory (WFF Audience Choice Award, Beijing Film Festival, 18 festivals worldwide), Nature Entwined (WFF, acquired by CBC), and the short documentary Authentic Kids. She has received multiple STORYHIVE grants. Krista is also the Producer and Co-Host of the Half Betty podcast, alongside Andrea Rathborne who is the Founder and Host. Half Betty is a bold and vibrant community where midlife women find support, inspiration, and connection through honest conversations about life's transitions.
