  • Ben Louis Nicholas is an award-winning filmmaker based in Montréal, Canada. He graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts film program in 2008. His background in music and experience as a cinematographer and editor informs a directing approach wherein all disciplines are formally intertwined.

    Ben has over ten years of directing experience in fiction, commercial and the fine-art fields. He’s worked alongside Abbott Miller from Pentagram and choreographers Justin Peck (NYC Ballet) and Jonah Bokaer (Merce Cunningham) on several dance films for 2wice Arts Foundation. A long-term collaboration with fine-artist Daniel Arsham culminated in Future Relic, an experimental science-fiction film starring Juliette Lewis and Mahershala Ali that premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in 2015.

    His narrative film works include 'Tic' and 'A Tune,' and 'I'm Sorry in the Future,' all of which had successful festival runs with stops at Calgary, Atlanta, Court Metrage, Landshut, Hamilton, Kingston, Cambria, Julien Dubuque, McMinnville, Lake County and more.
