Biography

John Hackett was born on November 5, 1910 in Perth, Western Australia, Australia. He died on September 10, 1997.

He was awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for his services in the 4th Para Brigade Headquarters.

He was also awarded the CBE, (Commander of the British Empire), the MC (Military Cross), DSO (Distinguished Service Order and Bar), and twice Mentioned in Dispatches.

He was two knighthoods, KCB (Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire) and GCB (Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Bath) for his military services.
