IMDbProStarmeterSee rank
Melamed began his career at United Artists writing publicity. He later became United Artists'radio and television publicity director. He later spent seven years at CBS and produced hundreds of radio and television programs, including The Peggy Lee Rexall Radio Hour. After CBS, from 1960 to 1962, he produced all, with the exception of Play of the Week, taped programming at Channel 13 in NY, which, at the time, was a commercial independent station. He produced an acclaimed series called One Night Stand, which included Lenny Bruce in one of the episodes.

After producing numerous programs he worked for Nat Hiken and was associate producer for Car 54. He contributed some scripts for the program.

After leaving Car 54, Melamed sold advertising and eventually retired without having realized some of his dreams. In the end, he understood that had actually made it after all.
