Biography

Emmett Short is an American stand-up comic, film and television actor. He was born Jeff Emmett Short, in San Francisco, California, to Jill and Mike Short. His mother is of Danish descent and his father has English, Irish, and French ancestry. Emmett grew up in Sacramento, California and his hobbies include playing basketball, and surfing. He has one older sibling, Joy.

Emmett decided to use his middle name after college when he began performing stand-up comedy. He has toured all over the world doing stand-up in clubs and for the troops. In 2006 he was chosen as one of the New Faces of Comedy in the prestigious Just For Laughs festival in Montreal, along side well known comedians like Hannibal Buress, Adam Devine, and Morgan Murphy. Emmett lives in Hollywood working as an actor, writer, and editor.
