Esther Perel was born on August 13, 1958 in Antwerp, Belgium. She is an actress and director, known for The Invite (2026), Newness (2017) and The Morning Show (2019).

Sometimes when we seek the gaze of another, it's not the partner we are turning away from, but the person we have become.

Marriage is an aggregate of multiple narratives. It belongs to the people who are in it, but it also belongs to the people who are supporting it and living around it: family, friends, community. As I once said, and it became a kind of saying for me, when you pick a partner you pick a story, and then you find yourself in a play you never auditioned for.
