Sam Johnson is a British writer & director.
He is in post production on his debut feature, sci-fi thriller "A Rare Breed", starring Iain Glen (Game of Thrones), Jessie Mei Li (Shadow & Bone), Danielle Galligan (House of Guiness), Katelyn Rose Downey (Blade Runner 2099) and Neil Maskell (Kill List).
He is developing a Cold War adventure TV series with the BFI, alongside features with Matt Orton (Operation Finale) and Ella Road (Black Mirror, Doctor Who).
His film "Earthy Encounters" was made through the BFI emerging talent scheme, debuted at Tribeca and played at over 100 festivals. It has recently been acquired by Disney+. Previously, BFI and Creative England backed "Billy the Kid" won Audience Awards at Oscar Qualifying Palm Springs, Aesthetica, Rhodes Island and Boston. His debut short "Jasmine's Revolution" premiered at the BFI London Film Festival.
He shoots commercially for brands including Louis Vuitton, Vogue and Levis, frequently collaborating with his photographer brother Tom Johnson.
He is represented by Patrick Child at Independent Talent Agency.
