Nikyatu Jusu is a Sierra Leonean American writer-director whose debut feature, Nanny, won the U.S. Dramatic Grand Jury Prize at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival.
Her earlier films, including Suicide by Sunlight, have screened internationally, with three shorts acquired by HBO. She holds a BA from Duke University and an MFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and has received support from the Princess Grace Foundation, the DGA, Tribeca Film Institute and Chanel.
She is a tenured Full Professor of Directing and Screenwriting at George Mason University.
