Biography

  • Ryan C. Burney is an American actor & writer who studied and worked in Los Angeles, California for over ten years before moving to Atlanta. Originally from Jacksonville Florida, Burney grew up playing several sports, bagging groceries at Publix, and working in home construction before joining the U.S. Air Force . Shortly after receiving an Enduring Freedom ribbon as an Airman, Burney followed his passion for the arts in motion picture. Upon his arrival to Hollywood, he immersed himself in several acting workshops, groups, and classes to sharpen his skills all while bartending on Melrose and in Beverly Hills. On the set of Semi-Pro, actor Matt Walsh introduced Burney to Upright Citizen Brigade for improv classes. That year Burney joined SAG and continued his training with Will McLaughlin at UCB learning long form improv. After an audition on the Paramount lot for a re-occuring role on Saving Hope, Burney decided he wanted to better himself and to be more prepared. Actress Ashley Williams recommended Warner Loughlin for training and coaching. This was a new home to perfect his craft by training with Nikki Deloach and Jen Dede at Warner Loughlin Studios. Burney's screenplays first began with writing his own short films for YouTube and Funny Or Die in 2006. He and Scott Vinci partnered up to continue writing a total of eleven scripts now. In fact, Ryan's first paid comedy acting job was with Scott Vinci and David Michie. They were hired to be the Three Wise Guys of Bethlehem for a Christmas party in Hollywood. Currently, Burney is exploring his opportunities in the New Hollywood of the South, a.k.a. Y'allywood of Atlanta Georgia. Ryan C. Burney continues to be an innovative writer as well as bringing characters to life in dramas and comedies for TV and film.
