Biography

Tommie Vegas was born Tommie Lee Vasquez to parents Tommy Vasquez and Sandra Lee Vasquez in Downey, California. At the age of 3 her family moved to Las Vegas, NV where she spent her childhood. Tommie moved back to Los Angeles as an adult to embark on the acting world with her talents. Most notably, Tommie worked with famed cult director Albert Pyun creating a wonderful and memorable friendship with two great films until his death in 2022. With much pride, her favorite and most loved project is known as, Blood From Stone, by Director Geoff Ryan. Tommie portrayed a Native American "street-walker" bringing to light the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and the cracks they can fall through.

Tommie Vegas is cousin to Pat Vegas and Lolly Vegas. Pat and Lolly are the front-men of the first All-Native American rock band famously known as, "Redbone". Being a registered member of The Chemehuevi Indian Tribe and inspired by her cousin's hard work and dedication to their Native (Yaqui) and entertainment roots, Tommie felt it was significant to carry on the Vegas name to her acting career. Tommie wishes to open more doors for Native Americans, to inspire Native actors and filmmakers and to show the beauty that is held within Native American culture, all while breaking the Native American stereotype!

During the shutdown of 2020, Tommie took the time to focus on her personal life and married Michael Jett and has 2 children. There is rumor of Tommie returning to the acting scene in late 2026 as she has newfound inspiration to bring her talents back to the world of film.
