Biography

Steve Blacksmith is a filmmaker, writer and comedian. Born in Albuquerque, he took advantage of the film boom shortly after high school and went straight into working on films. He later graduated from Central New Mexico Community College's Film Crew Training Program. He went on to receive a Bachelor's in Media Arts from the University of New Mexico and an MFA in Dramatic Writing from UNM as well.

Never wanting to stray away from the industry, Steve taught various courses in film production in the UNM Film & Digital Arts Department from 2021-2026.

While in undergrad, he formed City College Media, LLC and started making short films and other projects with classmates. Steve directed his first feature, "Tragedy + Time", with City College in 2020. They continue to produce new media content, podcasts, and both narrative and documentary films.
