Biography

Dean Cromwell was born on September 20, 1879 in Turner, Oregon, USA. He was married to Gertrude. He died on August 3, 1962 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Track coach at the University of Southern California from 1909 to 1913 and 1916 to 1948, he guided the team to 12 NCAA championships.

Inducted into the National Track & Field Hall of Fame in 1974 (inaugural class).
