- In November of 1970 he was charged in Las Vegas, NV, with assault and kidnapping after police said he forced a man into his car and had him beaten in his apartment. Police said the man owed him money.
- On March 11, 1971, Dobritch died from leaping from the 15th floor of the Mint Hotel in downtown Las Vegas. The police said he rented a room in the hotel & then jumped from it to his death. The press gave his age as 60. He was the former executive producer of the Circus Circus casino.
