Biography

Shaddy Safadi is an American art director and filmmaker renowned for pioneering a cinematic, 3D-driven approach to virtual filmmaking. A dual Art Directors Guild Award winner, he first achieved industry prominence at Naughty Dog, where he defined the grounded, gritty aesthetics of the Uncharted series and The Last of Us.

As the founder of One Pixel Brush, Safadi has overseen the world-building for era-defining titles including The Last of Us Part II and Gunzilla Games’ Off the Grid, and Back 4 Blood. His expertise has recently expanded into major film and advertising campaigns, contributing to Ben Affleck’s AIR (2023), Darren Aronofsky's Postcard From Earth (2023), the Coldplay X BTS: My Universe (2021) music video, and Apple’s "Scary Fast" (2023) MacBook Pro launch. Safadi is also an acclaimed director; his animated series Christo: The Civilized Barbarian earned the 2024 Annecy Cristal, followed by his 2025 Unreal Engine-driven award winning horror short, Diaboli.
