In addition to his various TV and film roles, Derek was long listed for the Best Supporting Actor award at the 2013 Filmed in Utah awards for his performance as Frank Sarvis in "Day Zero". Derek also adapted and produced the best selling novels, "Run For Home" and "Bad Moon Rising" by Sheila Quigley, for stage.
