Biography

Zacharias Mavroeidis is an award-winning film director and screenwriter based in Athens, Greece. With a background in architecture, his character-driven narratives feature an acute use of space as a storytelling element. Blending sarcasm with humanism, his diverse body of work spans live-action and animation, as well as fiction and documentary. His latest film, the queer bromance The Summer with Carmen (2023), premiered in the Giornate degli Autori section of the 80th Venice Film Festival, screened at festivals across the globe, and has been theatrically released in more than 12 countries.
