Biography

Seán James Sutton is an English film and television actor - based in Athens, Greece - who has spent more than twenty years playing men with authority and something to hide: diplomats, bosses, lawyers, politicians and criminals.

He has worked for directors including Ridley Scott, Bille August, Roland Joffé, Gabriele Salvatores and Yannis Smaragdis. Recent roles include Mr Mason in Smaragdis's Kapodistrias, the Priest in Bille August's The Count of Monte Cristo, and Karl Tubin across James Bamford's Utopia and The Last Gunfight. Earlier work includes Salvatores's The Invisible Boy II, Joffé's Project Icon, Jeremy Boreing's The Pendragon Cycle and Ridley Scott's The Vatican.

Born in Redruth, Cornwall and raised in Norfolk, he read Linguistics at the College of Ripon and York St John, a foundation for a wide accent range and working Italian and Greek alongside native English.

He also writes and directs character-driven European drama, including the feature The Buffer Zone, which he wrote and is directing.
