- Paul Heet met fellow St. Louisan and SMSU alumni, John Goodman at a frat party, and after some encouragement from John, Paul decided to move to Los Angeles after graduation and try his hand at screen writing.
Graduated from Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri.
Paul lived in London and worked for Bass Brewery to make enough money to backpack throughout Europe before moving to LA to start his career in TV and film.
His first job in the industry was a PA for the The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (1992).
While working in production for A&E, he met his mentor, Oscar-winning producer, Arthur Canton, father of Mark Canton and Neil Canton. Arthur took Paul under his wing, sent him to screen writing school at UCLA and paid for all his classes.
Paul's versatile experience in the film and TV industry plays a vital role in his knowledge and understanding of his main passion - screen writing.
Paul is a single dad with two beautiful kids: Joseph Paul Heet - born on August 2nd, 2004; Grace Kelly Katherine Heet born on December 12, 2008.

- "Heet" [pronounced 'heyt' in Holland] in Dutch literally means "hot".
- Inspired by his drumming role model and paradigm, Neil Peart, Paul is an avid drummer and percussionist; and has been playing and performing since he was 10 years old.
- Acted in four sketches with Jay Leno, while working as a PA on the Tonight Show. One of the sketches was acting with racing legend Mario Andretti.

- While working on the A&E Biography of "Ivan the Terrible" the show's producers discovered that Paul was a dead spitting image of Peter the Great (1986), which prompted him to write his first movie screenplay, and earned him the nickname around the production office as, "Czar".
