  • Afaf Abdel Halim Rady is an Egyptian singer, born in El-Mahalla El-Kubra, Gharbia. She later moved to Cairo to pursue her studies in the arts. At the age of ten, she enrolled in the Conservatory Institute, where she initially studied piano before specializing in operatic singing. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in music with the highest distinction. She went on to obtain both her Master's and Doctorate degrees from the Academy of Arts, with honors and top distinction. Afaf performed in numerous theatrical and operatic productions, including renowned international operas such as La Bohème, The Merry Widow, Così fan tutte (Thus Do They All) and The Marriage of Figaro.

    Her talent was discovered by the legendary composer Baligh Hamdy, who guided her towards Oriental singing. Throughout her career, her musical works diversified to include Romantic, patriotic, religious songs, children's songs and classical Arabic Muwashahat. Afaf Radi also expanded her artistic presence to include musical plays, TV series, radio dramas and a leading role in the feature film Mouled ya donia (1975)

    She collaborated with many of the most prominent composers in the Arab world, such as: Baligh Hamdi, The Rahbani Brothers, Mohamed El Mougy, Kamal El Tawil and Ammar El Sherei. Throughout her illustrious career, Afaf Rady has been awarded numerous royal medals, honorary awards, and recognitions for her significant contributions to music and the arts.
